Despite knowing the invasion was imminent, the situation in Ukraine has shocked us all. To support Ukrainians as they fight for their freedom, we’re adding to the already-significant contributions from the space industry with our own radar change detection data.
High-resolution satellite images were crucial in analysing the build-up of Putin’s troops at the Ukrainian border in the lead up to the invasion and space technology still has a major role to play, as evident from Ukraine’s Vice- President Mykhailo Fedorov’s call for radar data.
We’re using our experience with space technology to provide a cloudless satellite imagery mosaic basemap marked with locations where radar-detected change has occurred over a 14-day period.
Astrosat developed fuel poverty data to highlight areas where communities might be at greater risk of being hit by the cost-of-living crisis.
Who Can Access This Information
We want to help those who are providing aid, keeping the world informed, and defending their homeland, but information is power and with that comes responsibility. To ensure we don’t put power in the wrong hands, we’re asking charities, NGOs, and journalists to apply for access to allow us to assess their suitability.
